[고린도전서 11:24] 감사를 드리신 다음에, 떼시고 말씀하셨습니다. "이것은 너희를 위하는 내 몸이다. 이것을 행하여 나를 기억하여라."
[1 Corinthians 11:24, NLT] and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me."
Summary
오늘 우리는 성찬식을 하는 날이에요.
Today we have a Holy Communion.
You know we eat biscuits together and drink grape juice together in the church.
교회에서 같이 빵이나 비스켓을 나누어 먹고, 포도주스를 같이 먹는 행사가 있지요? 오늘 그걸 할거에요.
성찬식은 예수님이 제자들과 함께 마지막으로 식사를 하시면서,
“앞으로 너희들이 이렇게 해서 나에 대해서 기념하라.”
라고 말씀하신 것을 우리가 실천하는 거예요.
The Lord's Supper was Jesus' last meal with his disciples.
He said, “From now on, you will do this to commemorate me.”
So we are doing Holy Communion because Jesus said so.
식구 - 가족이라는 말에는 한 솥에서 난 밥을
같이 먹는 사람들이라는 의미가 담겨있어요.
In Korean Family means - people who eat meals from the same pot.
But not only Koreans, families eat together most of the time.
꼭 한국 사람들만이 아니라, 가족들은 거의 같이 밥을 먹죠.
성찬식에서는 비스켓이나 빵을 쪼개서 나누어 먹음으로서
우리가 한 가족이라는 사실을 확인하는 것이죠.
In Holy Communion, splitting biscuits or bread
It confirms that we are one family.
빵이 원래 하나였던 것처럼 우리도 하나임을 생각하는 거예요.
As the bread was one we remember we are actually one.
그리고 같은 의미로
포도주스도 원래는 하나의 잔에 따라서 돌려서 먹었어요.
In the same sense,
Originally grape juice was also served by pouring it into a single glass.
성찬식은 영어로는 이름부터 ‘communion’ 이라고 불리울 만큼
아주 가까운 사람들의 모임을 말하는 것이고
이 예식을 통해서 그 사실을 확인하는 의식이에요.
As such, this event is so much that it is called ‘communion’ in English.
It is a ceremony of very close, intimate among us to confirms that we are one body.
그리고, 예수님은 이 빵이 내 몸과 같고, 음료는 내 피와 같다.
이렇게 말씀하셨지요.
But Jesus said, this bread is like my body, and the drink is like my blood.
What does this mean?
이게 무슨 말 일까요?
우리가 먹는 음식들이 내 몸에 들어가서 내 피와 살이 되는 것과 같아요.
It's like the food we eat enters my body and becomes my blood and flesh.
성찬식을 통해서
우리와 예수님이 합체하는 거예요.
예수님의 선하심, 예수님의 사랑,
예수님의 용감함이 다 우리와 합체하는 거예요.
Through this ceremony we and Jesus unite.
The goodness of Jesus, the love of Jesus,
All of Jesus' bravery is united with us.
여러분이 예수님과 합체하면 어떤 사람이 될 수 있을까요?
What kind of person can you become when you are united with Jesus?
그래서 예수님처럼 용감하고, 따뜻하고, 사랑이 넘치는 사람이 되는거죠.
That's what makes you brave, warm, and loving like Jesus.
예수님과 합체할 준비가 되셨나요?

사랑하는 주님,
감사합니다. 예수님을 제물로 보내주셔서, 우리의 죄를 용서해주시고,
성찬식을 주셔서, 다시 예수님과 합체할 수 있도록 복을 주셔서 감사합니다.
오늘 성찬식에서 우리가 다시 예수님과 온전히 연합하는 일이 일어나게 하시고,
그렇게 누군가에게 예수님처럼 사랑과 소망을 주는 사람들이 되게 해주세요.
그런 사람들이 바로 교회입니다.
우리의 성찬이 되어주신,
예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.
아멘.
Dear Lord,
Thank you. You sent Jesus as a sacrifice to forgive our sins,
Thank you for giving us the Holy Communion and blessing us to be united with Jesus again.
May we again be fully united with Jesus in the communion today,
So that we become people who give love and hope to others like Jesus.
These are your church.
